Spread around the gentle slopes by the lake Sumendu, the small town of Mirik is an idyllic spot for a romantic holiday away from the hustle and bustle of Darjeeling and other larger towns. Here you can put up in log cabins, spend time hanging around the cobbled pathway that encircles the lake, go boating on the lake itself or get away to a picnic spot in an alpine forest carpeted with wild flowers. Mirik's pleasant climate and abundant sunshine makes the place even more attractive for visitors. Added to that is the magnificient view of the hills in the north and the vast expanse of plains below. |
