Metcalfe Hall

The Metcalfe Hall was built between 1840-44 according to the design prepared by the city magistrate, C.K. Robinson. The western facade of the building makes it apparent that it was inspired by the Tower of Winds in Athens. This architectural showpiece is reflective of the imperial aspirations of the Britishers at beginning of the nineteenth century.
